Crypto Highlights |Knockout Stage Week 8
21st - 25th November 2022

Alas, feels like yesterday when we began the magnificent journey of our World Cup tournament. Time flew by and today marks the end of our tournament’s Round of 16. Next up is our Quarterfinals and before we know it, it’s going to be the semis, the finals and our journey shall finally come to an end!

Both our Banking and Crypto teams displayed outstanding efforts on the field this past week and defying all fan expectations we saw most of the winning teams absolutely crush their opponents!

Let’s take a quick look at some of the prominent matches of the Round of 16 before we head on to the Quarterfinals.

Litecoin vs. Cosmos

Final Score 1:4

After winning their first round, it seemed the last remaining Crypto Titan was about to make quick work of Cosmos. But we couldn’t have been more wrong.

And just as we promised in the beginning of this tournament, we bring to you another great upset as the Cosmos team thrashed Litecoin in all of the remaining rounds and won the match with a score of 4 to 1.

Despite making a better than average recovery after the FTX mania and despite surpassing Solana to become the 15th largest Crypto, Litecoin just couldn’t recover.

Although it was sad to see Litecoin retire, with all the big names out, the Crypto tournament is definitely going to be more interesting than ever!

Maker vs. Loopring

Final Score 2:3

The match started with Loopring taking home the first round, but Maker was quick to react and tied the score in the very next round.

However, just as the suspense was starting to build up Loopring switched to attacking formation and combined with unidentified whale’s support in the reversing Crypto market and their determination and hard work they won the next two consecutive rounds and won the match with ease!

The ETH-based team sadly had no chance of recovery and despite its hard-fought battles throughout the tournament was eliminated!

Qtum vs. Zcash

Final Score 3:2

What seemed like a bland match in the beginning quickly turned into something very exciting as after winning the first two rounds Qtum up and lost the 3rd round to Zcash in a devastating manner.

The vigor with which Zcash’s players scored destroyed Qtum’s morale and it seemed a comeback was incoming.

However, Qtum was quick to react and capitalizing on its ability to combine the best of both worlds, Bitcoin and Ethereum’s characteristics outperform Zcash in the 4th round and winning the match.

It was however more luck than skill as Zcash lashed back and although unimpactful now defeated Qtum in the last round as well.

If Qtum had made another slip up in the 4th round we may very well have been looking at a different qualifier!
