Ladies and Gentlemen, Fans and Investors around the globe, the monumental day you’ve all been waiting for is finally here! The champions of the Worldcup.one tournament have finally been announced and after the ceremony they’re ready to take the trophy home!

What an amazing journey it has been these past few weeks, with titans getting crippled by newbies, nail-biting finishes and truly unbelievable upsets right up till the end. We held up our end of the bargain and have provided you the most unpredictable, the most thrilling and the most heart-breaking World cup ever!

So, without further ado, let’s dive in to the Final and Third Place Playoffs that took place this week as we reminisce over our memories of the tournament.

Truly a Finale worthy of being called a Finale!

As the two Japanese titans collided this week fans were ecstatic and confused at the same time. 

Both the teams were from the same country, were under the same economic and systematic influences, underwent similar trainings and employed similar strategies. 

As a fan and especially as a Japanese fan, how do you support one team over the other was indeed a question running circles on everyone’s minds.

As the two teams collided this week, the first round ended as a draw as neither side was able to get an upper hand on the other. On the second day, however, Team MUF broke the tie and scored a point tilting the match along with the fan support in their direction! 

Alas, it was but momentary glory for Team MUF, as next round onwards the riled-up team SMFG went completely crazy and thrashed Team MUF in the next two rounds arriving at a score of 2-1 in their favor at the end of the 4th round.

Now here’s when things got interesting, as everything, all their efforts, relentless hard work, sweats and tears and more all depended on who won the last round of the match.

If MUF won the round, the match would’ve gone to penalties and well there’s nothing more unpredictable than penalties but if SMFG won, they’d be taking the trophy home.

As expected, both teams fought valiantly in the last round but with victory so close in sight, and the newly found fan support Team MUFG’s players managed to outplay their opponents as their stock rose by 1.8%, while MUF’s rose by 1.11%.

Making Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group Inc the undisputed champions of the coveted trophy by ending the match with a score of 1:3 in their favor!

Woahh another match worthy of the final week! As we saw another nail-biting finish which had us all on the edge of our seats until the last round!

But man, what an ending! After suffering defeat at the hands of our now Champions of the tournament (Team SMFG), we thought it was all over for Barclays. But as the match started this week Barclays up and secured the first 2 rounds to its name.

But it wouldn’t be a worthy match without some thrill now, would it? 

As it happened Barclays lost the next 2 rounds, making it a tie – winner takes all!

Having matches go to the last round is already exciting on its own but when it happens in a Finale match it takes the excitement to a whole new level and that’s exactly what happened.

With fans from both sides chanting the name of their favorite teams, as the last round started our famed “Asian Conquerors” did what they do best – they conquered!

And after giving us such entertainment throughout the tournament and having recently produced encouraging interim results, we’re glad Team Barclays didn’t leave this tournament empty handed!

A well-deserved position indeed!
