And we’ve the second finalist of our tournament in the banking group.

And it is Team Mitsubishi UFJ Financial. Team MUFJ Financial finally managed to score their third goal of the week against Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria. They’re through the semifinal week and into the finals. 

The Japanese bank MUFJ Financial has completed the previously announced sale of its MUFG Union Bank's U.S. core regional banking franchise to the U.S. Bancorp. Team MUFG, Japan's biggest lender, received $5.5 billion in cash and approximately 44 million shares of U.S Bancorp (representing approximately 3 percent of the company) at closing and will receive an additional $3.5 billion in cash within five years of closing. 

This along with the positive market sentiments about the team, especially it being fairly valued due to the PEG ratio being around the fair market value of 1 — has led the team to this victory in the semifinals. 

Team BBVA on the other hand couldn’t play up to its mark and is out of the tournament. 

Now, all eyes are on the final week. Team MUFJ Financial is going up against Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group Inc. Stay tuned! 

Loopring vs. Compound

It seems like team Compound suddenly remembered that they were also playing this game. After three consecutive zeros in the first three rounds, they’ve finally managed to score a point in the fourth round. 

This is their first score in the semifinal round, and it’s quite embarrassing, if you ask us. 

The Compound is a decentralized protocol that makes it possible to lend and borrow crypto. In other words, Compound takes away the role of middlemen in traditional finance. It allows financial services through smart contracts and in a decentralized manner. Coupled with the backing of the Ethereum blockchain, Compound grew as an important DeFi project. 

A liquidity crunch impacting crypto firms has slowed the growth of DeFi and leading blockchains in the sector. The latest to fall victim in the sector is BlockFi. The once-popular crypto lender filed for bankruptcy on Monday. This has only brought the team further down in this year. 

As disappointing as it seems, they can still fight for the third position in this tournament next week. 
 

Basic Attention vs. Cosmos

Finally, we have our second finalist as well!
And would you believe it that it’s none other than team Basic Attention? 

Basic Attention has defied all odds of being considered as a basic team with a basic performance trajectory. They’ve won the fourth round of the week and scored their third point in the semifinals to be confirmed as a finalist in this tournament. 

They’ve shown incredible performance this week, no doubt. Basic Attention Token, otherwise known as BAT, is designed to be a cryptocurrency that can improve the arena of online advertising. It is the native digital token of the Brave web browser. To provide some context, Brave is a privacy-focused browser that automatically blocks online advertisements and website trackers.

With a unique utility, BAT has gained the attention of not only crypto enthusiasts but also online marketers. Despite the decline in its price recently, the team has had good luck in this tournament. 

Will it be able to be as lucky in the final week against Loopring? We’ll soon find out.
