Ladies and gentlemen, it gives me great pleasure to finally say this... lo and behold the champion for the banking world of our tournament the ruthless, the unforgiving — Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group Inc!

What happened?

Last round left us on the edge with a score on a tie and both teams waiting for the last and final round. Day five started off as the final decider of the tournament for the banking group.

The Japanese multinational team Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group Inc managed to score this last round and became the ultimate champion of WorldCup.one tournament today!

They’ve shown an absolutely remarkable performance throughout these previous weeks, since the start of the tournament. 

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation Group is a Japanese multinational banking and financial services institution headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. It is a subsidiary of the SMBC group. The SMBC group operates in over 40 countries and maintains a presence in all International Financial Centres as the 12th largest bank in the world by total assets. 

But today, in our eyes it has become the largest!

Their performance has been consistent with its reputation in the market. They’ve defeated team Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group - another very strong team nevertheless. Team MUFG is also one the leading global banking groups, and one of the largest banking institutions in Japan. 

But tough luck, only one team could have qualified for the final seat. And it’s Sumitomo Mitsui Financials Group Inc! 

Loopring vs. Basic Attention

And our prediction was right. The champion of the crypto club, team Loopring did manage to score all five rounds in their own favor. 

Without giving any change to score to Basic Attention- team Loopring has made a mockery out of their opponent in the final match. 

This is absolutely absurd for Basic Attention. They couldn’t even manage to score one single girl in the most important match of the tournament? 

BAT has been hovering around an extreme fear zone since its price plunged in November, and now the bearish trend has been sent to a death spiral following the recent market crash triggered by the collapse of the popular crypto exchange FTX.

It seems like the bears are in full control of the market. 

This was extremely unlucky for the team who managed to get to the finals after weeks of fighting on the field, months of practice, and years of dreaming for the most coveted cup!

Maybe, this was fate. Or just something that was inevitable. Whatever it was — Loopring stands as the ultimate champion for the Crypto group! 

Third Place Playoff

Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria vs. Barclays

Round of applause — we have our third place winner of the tournament in the banking group as well! 

And yes folks, it’s none other than Team Barclays!! 

Barclays has been showing us some very unexpected results. Some days we were very unsure about the team’s performance- some days we were hopeless. But it seems like the team managed to do well for their own good. If not the very first and second position, it has scored the third in the banking club. And maybe this year, it’s the most it can do. 

Barclays is a British multinational universal bank, headquartered in London, England. As of the lastest, team Barclays had a $30.6 billion market capitalization, putting it in the 95th percentile of companies in the Banks industry. It delivered strong results in 2021, which continued into 2022. 

Despite the lackluster performance of team Barclays share price so far this year, the latest interim results did showcase some encouraging progress. Experts think that this third place winner of our tournament is back on the right path. 

Nevertheless, their opponent — team Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria played very well as well. They showed a performance that will be remembered for a long time. But, tough luck! 

And our fan favourite Barclays secures a position on the podium!
